About Us

We are Carlos and Joanne, hence the CJ in the name “CJ Urban Jewel”.  When we moved to this home in 2001, folks in the surrounding neighbourhood referred to our home as the “jewel” of the street, which endeared us to it even more.  We are retired community workers who have spent our spare time in Latin America.  We have decorated our home with an eclectic collection of art and handicrafts, for which we have a passion, adding warmth and colour to the space.  When not at home, we are usually in Merida, Yucatan.
